First of all – what I great venue. Loved the vibe, loved the design, sound wasn’t too bad too…;)

I must say, I always wear my earplugs, but still, I was enjoying what I was hearing, not only because of the context.

It was EMERGENZA Semi Final@SO36, different bands, different styles, but all about playing live. And we all know how great is live music. It was good, I enjoyed id a lot, took some pictures and listen to some good music.

BarkingCats are the rock band with some, punk/jazz/swing influences and they’re a happy bunch. That was the first thing that made them different. It was full of energy, happiness and fun on stage. And I guess that what’s counts now. You can create the best music in the world, have the best musicians playing it, but it’s the live vibe that will sell you (also your album will be available to download on many pirate sites anyway 😉 ). And those guys had it. The most energetic was the singer, which was quite funny, as he had to be near his mic… but he managed ok, and everyone was happy.

Music was interesting, as I mentioned loads of different influences, people were enjoying it, some even dancing to it. Generally speaking band was very well received and guess what? They took a second place and will be in the finals at Astra Kulturhaus.

Please go and see them, they are really good. And you’ll enjoy live performances from other bands too. We need to keep going with live music, that is where the fun is.

Ow, forgot to mention – be prepared for some stage diving with a twist!! such fun!!
